Wyntr: Bangladesh has quite an impressive culture. I used Google-who didn't?-and came across some pretty interesting things. I'll first discuss the music from Bangladesh. There are a few instruments I'd like to point out such as the banshi (which is a bamboo flute), dhol (drums), and a single stringed instrument called a ektara.

Moving on to festivals and celebrations from Bangladesh. There are Pohela Boishakh, Independence day, National Mourning Day, Eid ul-Fitr, Eid ul-Adha, Muharram, Durga puja, and Language Movement Day.

I could find some information on Eid ul-Fitr, which is a three-day holiday declared by the government! After the Eid prayers, people return home, visit each other's home and eat sweet dishes called shirni. Throughout the day gentlemen embrace each other. It is also customary for junior members of the society to touch the feet of the seniors, and seniors returning blessings. Said blessings can be small amounts of money which can also be linked to China's tradition of red envelopes.

Eid ul-Adha is very similar to Eid ul-Fitr except for the Qurbani, which is the sacrifice of domesticated animals. ... All of those cows... But that's fine! Most of the meat is usually given to the poor people of Bangladesh.

Weddings in Bangladesh are usually arranged by matchmakers who are mostly friends or relatives of the couple. It's set up in five parts: the bride and groom's Mehendi Shondha, the bride's Gaye Holud, the groom's Gaye Holud, the Beeya, and the Bou Bhaat. The bride eventually gets decorated with abstract designs which reminds me of a certain time when I went to a rave with some make-up smeared all over my face... ... *shudder*

Cricket and football-which is what we call "soccer" for some odd reason-are very popular in Bangladesh. I fancy myself a bit good at football/soccer. In late 2006 and 2007, football legend Zinedine Zidane paid a visit to local teams and various events thanks to the invite of Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Major religions in Bangladesh are Hindu, Christian, and Buddhist.

Bangladesh has some pretty normal food. Boiled rice constitutes the staple food, and is served with a variety of vegetables, fried as well with curry, thick lentil soups, fish and meat preparations of mutton, beef, and chicken, and very rarely pork only by certain small groups. Still doesn't sound as appeasing as ice-cream. Just going to point that out now.

Looks like i'm done here.

Alex: *chuckle* Nope. Not yet my friend.

Wyntr: Wh-what? I explained lots of things.

Alex: Except for woman's dress. So as punishment, you're sentenced to wear a Sharee for the rest of the day! *snaps*

Wyntr: NOOOOOOOOO! *is suddenly put into a Sharee* ... LOOK AWAY! AVERT YOUR EYES!

Alex: Please excuse me for being a tad lazy. Real homework has been nipping my heels. And I know this looks like complete and utter BS. Sorry. *bows* See you in the next assignment!

Wyntr: LET ME TAKE THIS OFF! THIS IS NOT MANLY!!!!!
